Kyle Ashley is currently a student at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. An avid sports fan, he’s majoring in multimedia communications with a journalism focus and minoring in sports marketing. His affinity for sports goes beyond the NFL and college football and includes learning about all types of athletes on and off the field.
Ketan “KJ” Narotam is a senior majoring in communication. He currently interns with Jacksonville Broadcasters Association. KJ is passionate about writing, music, and is an avid vinyl collector. He is a huge fan of: music from the Ramones, movies directed by Quentin Tarantino, and books written by Hunter S. Thompson. Hopefully one day KJ will combine his love of writing with his passion for music.
Alondhra “Aloe” Suarez is an aspiring multimedia journalist about to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in communication. She hopes to start a career in radio broadcasting, and expand to global news. Aloe is currently interning with Spinnaker Media writing feature stories.
Sarah Joram is a senior student-athlete majoring in multimedia journalism. She is also minoring in business management and sport management, all while juggling over 20 hours of swim practice each week. A football enthusiast, Sarah is constantly studying the game and staying current with the latest news in the NFL. She hopes to pursue a career in the NFL after graduating from UNF.

Grace Gillen is a senior Multimedia Journalism student at UNF with an interest in health communications. Through her Global Health minor, she hopes to assist both doctors and patients in honing their ability to discuss complex medial issues and facilitate open relationships. After graduation, she plans on getting certified as a Spanish-speaking medial interpreter, and possibly continuing her studies at University of Florida’s Health/Science Communications Master’s program.
Sydnee Batzlaff is a senior studying multimedia journalism and American Sign Language/English interpreting. She has had the goal of becoming a local news reporter since sixth grade. Sydnee is also a member of a sorority at UNF, Delta Gamma. She holds a leadership position as the Vice President of Foundation. She helps organize service events and oversees their philanthropy. In her free time, she loves going to country concerts, going on cruises and going on adventures with her friends.
Zain Beverly is a UNF senior majoring in communications with a focus in journalism. He has produced a few news packages and other smaller pieces of content. He has appeared on Pete “The Job Guy” Langlois’ radio show as a weekly contributor from January, 2020 until March, 2020. He enjoys music, history, and writing bios about himself.
Kristen Brainard is a senior majoring in multimedia journalism and minoring in criminal justice. She has a passion for writing, filming, and video editing. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hanging out with friends, and taking care of her two puppies. She hopes to gain experience in the journalism field and eventually land a video editing career.
Molly Britt is a senior majoring in Multimedia Journalism with a minor in photography. Her goal is to become a photographic journalist for a travel magazine or blog to combine with her passion of writing and photography with her love for travel. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, photography, and painting. Once she graduates she plans on teaching abroad while building her portfolio as a journalist.
Janay Brown is a senior majoring in multimedia journalism. From running her own YouTube channel to starting her own blog, she has developed a creative eye for storytelling. Janay’s goal is to incorporate her passion for fashion and creative writing to bring an exciting, fresh perspective to journalism. Using the television and production experience she gains from Inside Jacksonville, Janay hopes to pursue a career in fashion journalism after graduation and one day start her own magazine.
Katie Buckley is a senior multimedia journalism student. She currently works as an intern at The Florida Times-Union, writing articles about the Jacksonville community. After college, she wants to merge her love for creative writing and journalism to focus on immersive, investigative storytelling.
Breanna Cataldo is a multimedia journalism student with a minor in political science. Previously, she was Features Editor of UNF’s student-run newspaper. She plans on interning at Folio Weekly this year and hopes to remain writing features stories. Breanna has an interest in music and art and plans to continue writing stories about the artistic scene in Jacksonville.
Leah Cirelli is a senior majoring in multimedia journalism with a minor in sport management. She is currently interning at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville. She enjoys sharing people’s stories and bringing their voices to life. In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing on the beach and listening to vinyl records.
Siddie Friar is a senior wrapping up a multimedia journalism degree. She currently works as a freelance writer and a licensed massage therapist. In her free time, Siddie enjoys outdoor activities, reading, writing, and cooking. She looks forward to continuing to develop as a freelance writer and merging her creative passions into a fulfilling career upon graduation.
Cassidy Goldman is a senior at the University of North Florida studying communications with a concentration in multimedia journalism. She is a part of the Presidential Envoys and the Delight Ministries Team Director. Cassidy started working as an Entertainment Reporter with Inside Swoop this summer and also obtained a position as a Digital Journalist with Positively Osceola for which she produces and anchors the weekend morning news show, Wake Up Osceola. She was recently crowned Miss Winter Haven 2020 as a part of the Miss America Organization and is using her position to fight modern day slavery with her social impact initiative, #BreakTheCycle: Human Trafficking Awareness. Cassidy partners with organizations like Rethreaded, A21, and the End It Movement to #BreakTheCycle and make freedom a reality for everyone everywhere.
Mindy Herrick is a senior studying journalism with minors in sport management and leadership. She is also on the UNF women’s golf team which keeps her very busy. Mindy played in the 2019 United States Women’s Amateur Golf Tournament and dreams to play professionally after college. She enjoys going to the beach with her friends, shopping, and spending time with children. After she graduates, she hopes to combine her passion for golf with her writing and speaking skills.
Maureen Hozey is a junior at the University of North Florida. She is majoring in communication with a focus in multimedia journalism and production, and minoring in criminal justice. Maureen has a passion for storytelling and connecting with people.
Robert “Blake” Kemple
Blake Kemple is a senior at University of North Florida. He is majoring in communications with a focus in multimedia journalism.
Kylie Kidd is senior majoring in communication with a concentration in journalism and international studies. She has a passion for telling people’s stories through videos, pictures and audio. Kylie has been traveling her whole life and has been to six different countries and most of the states. She is originally from Wilmington, Delaware. Kylie’s most rewarding journalist travel experience was a mission trip she took to Marsh Harbor in the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian. She not helped the islanders clean up but interviewed survivors, put together a video package and written article to tell their stories. Her dream is to become an international journalist and put together her love of helping people, storytelling, and traveling.
Joshua Lester is a senior majoring in mass media/journalism with a minor in creative writing. He is currently writing for Jacksonville Magazine where he previously interned. His writing experience includes sports articles, history pieces, short horror stories, poems, and business training manuals. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and pretending the Jaguars will be good one day.
Roberto E. Lopez
Roberto E. Lopez is a senior majoring in multimedia journalism. He is a musician and in his free time loves to listen to music and watch movies. He hopes to work with human and animal rights activist groups by engaging in investigative journalism.
Brandon Ludwig is a senior receiving his BS in Multimedia Journalism, and a fifth-generation Northeast Florida resident. Last summer, he interned as an associate producer at Washington, D.C.’s WMAL, and previously hosted Jacksonville’s Live and Local Radio Show at Spinnaker Media from 2018-2020. This fall, he has taken on the communications internship position with Clay County Habitat for Humanity.
Mariana Mejia is a senior at University of North Florida. She is majoring in communications with a focus in multimedia journalism and minoring in political science. She hopes after graduation to jump start her career with National Geographic or Univision as an environmental journalist. Mariana is currently interning with Spinnaker Media writing feature stories. She also speaks Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys going the beach, hanging out with friends and staying in touch with her family.
Jonathan Melancon is a graduating senior majoring in multimedia journalism. He currently interns for The Spinnaker. Jonathan’s goal is to become a podcaster and start his own media outlet company to base in his hometown of New Orleans. His interests involve sports commentating, video game reviews, music reviews, and video editing. His personal philosophy is “everyone has a story to tell and journalists are responsible for telling the stories that connect us.”
Kaitlyne Piper is a senior at the University of North Florida earning a communications degree with a focus on photojournalism. She is currently a content creator interning at ITG NEXT. After graduating, Piper hopes to cover all types of news stories that include photographs that leave impressions on its viewers.
Laura S. Rivera-Lopez
Laura S. Rivera-Lopez is a senior majoring in Journalism with a minor in Spanish. She is currently interning at the Florida Times-Union as an intern journalist. After graduation Laura hopes to move to D.C to get into podcast journalism and to be able to write for a newspaper. She is also fluent in Spanish.
Demi Rouhani is a senior communication major with a concentration in multimedia journalism and a minor in criminal justice. She plans on using her knowledge of the journalism and criminal justice fields to become an investigative reporter. She is also currently working as a letter writer for a consumer advocacy organization.
Nikki Schoenbeck is a senior at University of North Florida. She is majoring in communications. She first fell in love with broadcast when she took her first journalism class. Her goal is to work at a news station and someday be a news anchor.
Molly-Anne Seymour is a senior majoring in journalism with a minor in marketing. Molly is currently interning in the communications department at the State Attorney’s Office in downtown Jacksonville and spends her weekends working at a golf course as a beverage cart attendant. Outside of work and school, she loves to spend her time at the beach, eating good food, and going to the pool with friends. After graduating this Fall, Molly hopes to use her writing and speaking skills in a job that supports a non-profit organization.
Richard “Ricky” Sharp
Richard Sharp is a senior studying communications on the multimedia journalism track with a minor in religious studies and theater/drama. After school, he hopes to work as a freelance documentarian and journalist for various magazines or publications. He currently works as an independent musician on the weekends.
