Celise is a Senior at the University of North Florida majoring in Multimedia Journalism. She hopes to utilize her passion for people and love of reporting in her career. Celise also has a strong interest in music, dance and the arts. She hope to work for alternative publications in Atlanta following graduation.

Kayla Davis

Kayla Davis is a Jacksonville native and senior at the University of North Florida, majoring in Multimedia Journalism.

Kayla is obsessed with all things related to social media and enjoys staying up to date on pop culture news. Her dream job is to be the on-air talent for an entertainment news organization like Extra! or Entertainment Tonight.  You can find her in a variety of places around the Jacksonville area with a cup of coffee in hand, preferably a Starbucks Iced Caramel Macchiato.

Lauren Ericksen

Lauren Ericksen is a senior at UNF studying multimedia journalism, in her spare time she enjoys reading, painting and writing. When Lauren graduates she hopes to work as a writer for either a newspaper or magazine.

Ryan Hennessy

Ryan is a multi-media journalist student at the University of North Florida. He has his own sports talk radio show on campus called HennHouse radio. He was the host of the UNF men’s basketball coach Matthew Driscoll coaches show called Center Court with Matthew Driscoll. Ryan’s dream is in sports broadcast and journalism.

Al Huffman

Al Huffman is a journalism student with experience in sports writing and radio work. He ran social media for the Jacksonville Sharks during the 2016 season. After an writing an opinion piece that got a particularly hostile reception, Al realized his one true passion in life is bothering people and now broadens his career options to include work in satirical news along with sports media.

Drucilla James

Drucilla, best known as Dru, is a senior at the University of North Florida majoring in multimedia journalism. She is expected to graduate Spring 2017. Dru has a strong passion for writing, photography, eating and doing yoga. She is a writer for Spoon University, an online food publication created by students for students. She is also an editorial intern for Void Media, the only millennial-focused media company in North Florida.

Joy Kader

Joy Kader, a senior at the University of North Florida, is pursuing a degree in communication with a concentration in multimedia journalism and production. She is currently the radio intern at WJCT’s First Coast Connect, an hour-long call-in morning show.

Joy discovered her passion for broadcast journalism at age 16 when she conducted interviews with a non-profit organization in her hometown of Palm Beach. Joy hopes her love for traveling, food, fashion and pop-culture will contribute to her writing.

Caitlin Kitchens

Caitlin Kitchens is a double major in Communication and History at UNF and will be graduating Spring 2017. She is currently interning at Folio Weekly and loving it. After graduation Caitlin will be attending Law School and is hoping to get accepted into UF. She is an avid Disney fan and dreams of being a corporate lawyer for the company some day.

Wesley LeBlanc

Wesley LeBlanc is a senior at the University of North Florida majoring in Communication with a focus on Multimedia Journalism. Currently, he’s the features editor at UNF’s Spinnaker, a freelance writer for Jax Daily Record and an intern at Clay Today.

He has a passion for entertainment and the industry surrounding it. His forte is video games whether it be playing them, writing about them or talking about them. After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Communication, he plans to find a way to meld his passions for video games and journalism together.

Douglas Markowitz

Douglas Markowitz is a writer and freelance journalist from Miami, Florida. Having previously studied at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan, he is currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Communication. His work has been featured in local and national publications from the Miami New Times to The Hill and focuses on film, music, arts and culture. His current goal is to acquire an internship or position at a publication based outside of the United States. Find his blog here.

Julie Petrosky

Julie Petrosky is a senior at the University of North Florida majoring in communication with a concentration in multimedia journalism. When she is not in school or traveling for fun, she is currently interning for a company learning all about digital media. One day she hopes to find a job that combines what she learned in school and her love for traveling.

Serena Summerfield

Serena Summerfield is a senior communication student at the University of North Florida. She currently interns at WJCT. She enjoys combining the efforts of gathering a great story with her photography skills for an even more powerful piece.

Serena enjoys video games when she’s not busy with her school and work life, as well as painting and drawing. She also particularly enjoys converting oxygen into carbon dioxide to continue living, and traveling. She’s already been to Thailand and plans on continuing with that travel bug after graduating. She hopes to update her blog on those and other stories in the near future.

Alex Torres-Perez

Born on the small island of Puerto Rico, Alexandra Torres-Perez has always wanted to be a journalist. She is currently studying Multimedia Journalism at the University of North Florida, and is even minoring in Spanish to practice her native tongue. She is the Director of Communications for the Latin American Student Organization, and is also the Video Director for Spoon University, a food website created for students by students. Alexandra is passionate about food and culture, and hopes to one day be able to combine her passion with her dream of being a journalist.

Will Weber

Will is a journalism major and political science minor with dreams of becoming a multimedia journalist covering sports. He was the sports and managing editor for the UNF Spinnaker and hopes his career will let him see the country.

Brenda Zelaya

Brenda Zelaya is a student majoring in communications with a concentration in multimedia journalism. Originally from Peru, Zelaya dreams to become a multimedia journalist who can apply both English and Spanish languages in her career. She has developed a strong interest in international news and entertainment.
